There is a set date for the reality series Squid Game on Netflix

Netflix’s reality show, “Squid Game: The Challenge,” inspired by the hit series Squid Game, where 456 contestants compete for a prize of $4.56 million, is set to premiere on November 22nd, as announced by the streaming service on Friday. This release date coincides with Thanksgiving vacations, making it a likely choice for families to watch.

Netflix introduced the series in June 2022, which didn’t come as a surprise given the massive success of Squid Game following its debut in 2021. However, the lead-up to the release has encountered some hiccups, with the company having to address concerns related to medical issues reported on the set.

“The Challenge” isn’t the sole opportunity for individuals to immerse themselves in Squid Game-like experiences. Netflix has recently started selling tickets for “Squid Game: The Trials,” an immersive event in Los Angeles. Moreover, there’s “Squid Game Virtuals,” a VR experience based on Squid Game, available at Sandbox VR locations. Netflix is also planning to open retail stores in 2025, and it’s quite likely that they will incorporate real-world Squid Game tie-ins at these locations.

Additionally, Netflix is actively working on a second season of the main Squid Game series. While the company has not yet disclosed a specific release date, they have introduced some new cast members for the upcoming season.
